Since 1985, the Quartier Vanier Merchants Association (BIA) has brought together merchants, professionals and manufactures who are dedicated to the promotion and development of Vanier.
Our not-for-profit association has a mandate is to ensure our historic downtown commercial district is attractive, has a variety of services and products, and continues to improve economic development for our existing and new merchants.
The BIA is administered by 10 elected volunteer Board Members (8 local business people and 2 local Councillors). We also employ an Executive Director, an Operations Manager, a Communications & Events Manger and a Social Media/ Web Coordinator.
Every commercially zoned property within our boundaries contributes to QV BIA’s budget. The levy is expressed as a percentage of a building assessment and taxes.
