DESCRIPTION:Our Annual street party along Beechwood Ave is back! From St-Charles to Marier\, the street will be activated with live music & shows\, arts & crafts\, food & drink\, and so much more! It is a chance to celebrate the wonderful businesses all along Beechwood and get together as a community. \n\n\n\n\nWHEN & WHERE IS THE EVENT?\nBeechFest is taking place on Saturday September 7 from 3-9pm. It runs all along Beechwood from St-Charles to Marier. \nTHINGS TO KNOW BEFORE YOU GO\nBeechwood Ave will be closed from 1pm-11pm. The detour for getting around by vehicle is Marier -> Barette -> St. Charles.\nDue to the road closure\, there will be a bike detour. After moving in together\, the three friends discovered that their new home was in fact a 100+ year old school house — inspiring the name. \nThey were recently awarded Group of the Year at Ottawa Music Awards and Album of the Year by Ottawa Faces Magazine. \nTheir live shows combine upbeat\, catchy singalongs with nostalgic & emotive folk tunes to bring a wise\, yet youthful perspective to the Canadian folk music scene. Releasing their debut album in 2023 and an Acoustic EP in 2024; the band has amassed over 200k online streams. \nMIMI O’BONSAWIN\nMimi O’Bonsawin is a contemporary roots singer-songwriter from Northeastern Ontario. Through her rhythm and story-driven songs\, Mimi embraces the beauty of the land\, all the while yielding to her Franco-Ontarian and Abenaki roots. The ethereal quality of her music whisks you away with uplifting melodies and introspective lyrics that weave pop sensibilities with acoustic instruments. The layers of percussion and surprising harmonies make you feel the music rather than just hear it. \n
