10,000 Hours Piano Studio

The « ten-thousand-hour rule » is the idea that it takes that much practice to master a skill. While that might sound like a daunting amount of time, you can make a dent in it at 10,000 Hours Piano Rehearsal Studio.

The business has five rehearsal rooms available, rented by the hour. Each room has different pianos, from upright and digital pianos to full-sized grand pianos — even a 19th century fortepiano.

« My favourite part of Vanier is how many small businesses there are here, » manager Mackenzie says, « It seems like there are a lot of people really working hard, and I love that.« 

Managing a piano studio has its own rewards, too. « I really enjoy listening to all the music that people play when they rehearse. » She added with a laugh, « Even though I pretend I’m not listening, I’m listening — and everybody’s always so great.«
