Up-and-coming Canadian powerhouse, Grace Marr, is a multi-genre songwriter and ‘Alternative Inspirational’ artist (a term she’s coined to embody her fusion of Gospel/CCM, Folk, and R&B). The Ottawa-born singer-songwriter introduced herself to the music scene in July of 2023 with independently released, nostalgia-infused single ‘Twenty-Two Again’, followed by boundary-breaking, spiritual single ‘Gin’, and most recent summer bop ‘Body Issues’. This past April, Grace released her 5-track EP ‘Supernatural’ which was showcased on Breakfast Television where she performed ‘Belong’ and was interviewed by Tracy Moore and Meredith Shaw on national live television. Spending the last few years honing her craft in the songwriting space, Grace has most notably written with Rodney ‘Darkchild’ Jerkins (Whitney Houston, Justin Bieber, Destiny’s Child) as part of the YYZ-LAX Songwriting Camp, and co-wrote ‘Where Would I Be’ on Maverick City Music’s TRIBL Anthologies album (released shortly after the music group’s Grammy win for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album). Performing on stages such as TIFF, RBC Bluesfest, and MEGAPHONO, Grace has developed a raw, soulful sound as she belts over lyrics that bridge faith with everyday life. She is consistently working on new music and is currently finishing the final touches on her debut album, Saving Grace, set for release on July 12th, 2024.
Planted at the crossroads of roots and soul, Charlie A’Court possesses a mighty voice, fierce guitar work, and contemporary songwriting that is loved by fans across Canada and beyond. His latest album, “A’Court, Spiegel, & Vinnick”, just won Blues Recording of The Year at the 2024 East Coast Music Awards. This fully acoustic album sees A’Court in a wonderful, synergistic collaboration with Australian blues legend, Lloyd Spiegel, and Canadian roots/blues icon, Suzie Vinnick.
Charlie has always been recognized for exploring his musical horizons. As a six-time ECMA winner and eight-time Nova Scotia Music Award winner, Charlie has earned awards for Blues, Pop, and R&B/Soul Recordings of the Year, and on multiple occasions been recognized as Entertainer of the Year. A’Court has also received multiple Maple Blues Award nominations including Male Vocalist and Songwriter of the Year.
This fall (2024), Charlie will be releasing his new album. “San Palarino” is an Americana-driven deep dive into growing older, emotional well-being, and the collective weight bearing down on humanity. Much of the album features co-writes with some of Canada’s top singer/songwriters including Matt Andersen, Terra Spencer, and Colin MacDonald (The Trews). The music is drawing directly from his influences like Martin Sexton, Melissa Etheridge, Hot House Flowers, and Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit.
