While the independent eye clinic is new to the neighbourhood, Boumala has been here longer, living in Vanier since he arrived in Canada seven years ago. If you live in the area, you may have run into him before he opened his own business—he’s also an instructor in the Opticianry program at La Cité and the clinic supervisor of the Wabano Eye Clinic.

“Vanier is a small community, tight together. Despite the fact that we’re very close to downtown, we still have that feeling that it’s really connected, where all businesses know their customers and support each other.”
