BeechFest is more than a street party — it’s a celebration of Vanier’s charm and diversity. One day, the road closes and Beechwood fills with live music, street eats, local art, and family fun. From Marier to Loyer, every block becomes a party.
We’re extending the closure by one more block to Loyer. Beechwood will be closed from Marier to Loyer Avenue, and St. Charles from Beechwood to Barrette is included too. Access to businesses is maintained from the side streets on Champlain, Chapleau & Commanda.

Patenteuses

Créations In Vivo, a Franco-Ontarian theatre company based in Vanier, presents Patenteuses, a brand-new musical with book and lyrics by Chloé Thériault and music by Brian St-Pierre. With humour and satire, the show revisits the story of the Ordre de Jacques-Cartier — better known as “la Patente.” Four women infiltrate this secret society, founded a century ago right here at Saint-Charles Church, and seize its rituals to rewrite history their own way.
At BeechFest, enjoy a first-look recital of songs from the show, performed by actors Darquise Lauzon, Ariane Lemay, Emma-Rose Smith and Chloé Thériault. The world premiere takes place at the MIFO on October 22, 2026 — one hundred years to the day after the Order's founding — with an additional performance on October 23.

A sought-after session vocalist, she tours with Jessica Pearson and the East Wind, Ontario Folk Music Awards 2025 Performing Artist of the Year.
