We were honoured to be featured in the Ottawa Citizen’s Social Scene · Community Builders series — a warm recap of Partage Beechwood 2026 that captured both the magic of the night and the seriousness of the cause behind it.
Two hundred guests gathered around one long table beneath the lanterns at Beechwood Cemetery on Wednesday, August 19, for a Moroccan-inspired dinner prepared by Vanier resident Chef Dave Godsoe, now in his third year with us. Together, they raised $80,000 for the Partage Vanier Food Bank — surpassing our $65,000 goal.
The evening also grounded guests in the reality driving that fundraising. As the article reports, 3,691 people in a community of 17,380 used the food bank this year — more than one in five residents. Sixty-five percent of those turning to Partage Vanier this year were new clients.
Even a brief summer downpour couldn’t dampen the evening. As the rain moved through, a stunning double rainbow appeared over the cemetery — a fitting close to a night about neighbours showing up for each other.
