Capital Pop-Up Cinema — The Mummy’s Tomb
October 3 @ 6:30 pm - 10:00 pm
Free
Spooky season lands right on our doorstep. Capital Pop-Up Cinema returns to Beechwood Cemetery — just steps from Beechwood Avenue — for a free outdoor movie night that’s equal parts magical, historical, and delightfully creepy.
Bring a blanket, arrive early, and settle in for one of the coziest cinema experiences of the year.
The evening
- 🎶 6:30 PM — Live musical performance by Ottawa Chamberfest
- 🎞️ 7:00 PM — Silent film with live score
- 🧟 7:30 PM — The Mummy’s Tomb (1942) — a Universal horror classic to close out the night
Good to know
- Free admission — no registration required
- Family-friendly, but note the film is a vintage horror flick — parental discretion advised for younger viewers
- Bring a blanket, low chair, or cushion (the ground gets chilly in October)
- Dress in layers — it’s an outdoor cemetery in autumn
A Vanier moment
Beechwood Cemetery is one of Vanier’s most beloved landmarks — and Capital Pop-Up Cinema has become one of the neighbourhood’s most beautiful traditions. If you’ve never been, this is a great one to start with.
