On July 18, the Vanier HUB hosted a barbecue for students participating in the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program.
The event, organized by Ottawa-Vanier MP Mona Fortier, brought in around 100 student summer workers who fill positions provided by CSJ grants. It offered participants the chance to mingle with their peers. During the event, speeches were given by Fortier and students giving testimonials about their experiences with the program.
Among the students attending were the Vanier BIA’s four summer student employees. The BIA brought back social media coordinator Taryn Amo and event coordinator Jacques O’Neill. In terms of new hires, Ryan Clark has been brought in to help with both social media and events, while Vanier local Leaha Schultz brings her connection with the community to the event-planning team.
We’re so lucky to have them on our team!
