Investing in Youth, Community & Capacity: A Look at Our 2025 Canada Summer Jobs Placements

Community Notices

Each summer, the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program provides an incredible opportunity—not only for youth aged 15 to 30 to gain meaningful work experience, but also for organizations like ours to expand our capacity, deepen our impact, and invest in the next generation of community leaders.

This year, the Vanier BIA was fortunate to receive CSJ funding for two placements, and the results speak for themselves.

Meet Taryn – Social Media Coordinator

Taryn joined our team to help tell Vanier’s story—one post at a time. From managing and scheduling content across Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok, to capturing live stories at events, she played a key role in growing our online presence and community engagement.

With an eye for great visuals and a feel for what makes our community special, Taryn’s work helped shine a spotlight on Vanier businesses and bring our summer programming to life in the digital space.

Meet Ryan – Event Support

Behind every successful event is a team that makes it all happen—and Ryan was that team. From setting up tents, tables, and signage to providing on-the-ground support during busy event days, Ryan was an essential part of making sure things ran smoothly. His flexibility, positivity, and hands-on approach contributed greatly to the success of our summer programming.

A Program That Makes a Difference

For not-for-profits like the Vanier BIA, programs like Canada Summer Jobs offer more than just extra help—they offer a way to deliver real value to our community, support local youth, and create opportunities for learning, mentorship, and growth.

We’re incredibly grateful to CSJ for helping us build a stronger, more vibrant Vanier—this summer and beyond.
